Conditions Of Hire
The premises are accepted as being in good condition and repair.
The Group/Organisation granted the let agree to leave the premises in a clean and tidy condition at the end of each use and to put away any equipment used in the appropriate places.
All accidents, damages, etc. must be reported using the report of damage form.
NO CHILDREN UNDER 12 YEARS ALLOWED IN KITCHEN
Kitchen worktops are to be kept clear at all times.
Outside Caterers should ensure they have the necessary food hygiene certificates.
Staging – no food to be consumed in this area / no unsupervised children
Please no table confetti or confetti balloons.
Banners may be put on display boards not walls.
NO RUBBISH OF ANY KIND to be left in any part of the building. DO NOT USE THE HALL BINS. Rubbish to be secured in bags and removed from the premises.
All areas of the church building are non-smoking. If smoking outside door, please ensure cigarette ends are not left lying on the ground.
Note: The Kirk Session has first call on the use of its property and all lets are subject to this condition. It may, therefore, be necessary to suspend or cancel a let, though as much notice as possible will be given.
Insurance: The Group/Organisation shall be responsible for providing adequate insurance cover for themselves, those associated with them, and their equipment and any other property they bring into the premises. The Group/Organisation shall be responsible for providing adequate public liability insurance cover in respect of their use of the premises.
A copy of the Church’s Health and Safety and Fire Policy Statements is available on request and must be strictly adhered to by all Hall users. Failure to do so will result in any future hall let application being refused.
Hall users are responsible for any electrical equipment used by them, all of which must carry a valid PAT test certificate if more than a year old.
Children/ Young People / Protected Adults: Where the premises are being hired for the purpose which will involve work with children or young people or protected adults the Group or Organisation confirm that they have made themselves familiar with the current Legislation and have an understanding of it. The Group or Organisation further confirm that they have adopted a recruitment procedure for working with children or young people or protected adults which where appropriate includes requiring staff ( whether employees or volunteers) to be members of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme as laid down by the Protection of Vulnerable Groups(Scotland) Act 2007. It is agreed that if the Group or Organisation are found to be in breach of this provision, the Kirk Session shall have the right to terminate this agreement with immediate effect.
Indemnity: The Kirk Session does not accept responsibility for any loss, damage or claim by any party of any kind arising out of this let and the Group/Organisation shall indemnify the Kirk Session against all such loss, damage or claims.
