Kinglassie Primary School

We are very fortunate at Kinglassie Primary School to have a close link with our local minster Donald Lawrie. There has been a much closer link since Donald took on the role at Kinglassie and he regularly visits our school to check in with staff and children. We look forward to his Friday visits where Donald will visit some of the classes and work with the children on their tasks, he actually has found that he enjoys arts and crafts with our younger children!

As a headteacher, I also find that Donald is keen to hear the reality of schools and has a very supportive ear for listening. He is keen to support in any way that he can and our children enjoy seeing him in school-especially when he pops in for our Hot Choc Friday.

The link between the school and the church is important, especially in a village community. We visit the church for a couple of assemblies and particularly enjoy our Easter visit. Some of the classes also pop along to look at `what a church is` and enjoy hearing about all the different areas of the church and the different elements of certain practices such as weddings, christening etc. The best thing is it is a short enough distance for us to walk along to and stay connected as much as possible.

In these difficult times that we are currently in, it is comforting to know that when we do return to the new normal, we will still have that constant support from the minister and we are grateful for that.
